Today I am reviewing the YSL Black Opium and Black Opium Floral Shock perfumes. I was given black opium as a gift a few months back and instantly fell in love, it's a sweet, sexy and mysterious scent that I always wear on nights out - it would also be great for date night! This perfume has quickly become my new favourite perfume (replacing my much loved Paco Rabanne Black XS) and although it is fairly expensive (around £50 for 30ml) I think it's totally worth it.
I'm not very good at explaining scents so I've included the notes below
Top Notes Black coffee accord Mandarine Bergamot
Heart Notes Orange blossom Tuberose Jasmin sambac
Base Notes White musk Vanilla beans Cashmeran
I also recently had the chance to smell the new variation of black opium, floral shock (chance to smell = regularly steal from my mother) this scent is lighter and more floral making it a better choice for during the day and although I prefer the original this is still good and has a very similar vibe.
Again I have included the notes below
Top notes Bergamot Essence, Pear Accord, Freesia Accord
Heart notes Orange Blossom Absolute, Golden Gardenia Accord, Solar-floral accord
Base notes Coffee Accord, Sandalwood Accord, Vanilla
