This is going to be a quick post today sharing my thoughts on the MUA Makeup Academy lipsticks that retail for just £1! I have 6 different shades to show you, I will include a brief description of each one but first I will tell you my overall thoughts. While looking on the MUA website for information to include in this blog I noticed they also have a new collection known as the Luxe Velvet Matte Lipsticks (£3) which look very interesting....I may pick some of these up and do a bit of a comparison/review blog. Okay so back to this review, these lipstick are obviously not going to be the highest quality but for £1 you really can't go wrong. These go on very smoothly and feel lovely and comfortable, almost moisturising! The pigmentation varies from shade to shade and although generally quite good for the price they can look a little patchy and show lines and dry areas on the lips. My solution to this is to apply the colour all over the lips then take your finger and pat the lipstick down giving a more even colour and smoother appearance, this is my favourite way to wear these lipsticks! I think it would also be a good idea to wear these with a lip liner underneath to give better coverage and wear time. These lipsticks are never going to be my absolute favourite but they are great for everyday and perfect for trying out new colours you wouldn't ordinarily choose, for example, if you feel very intimidated by red lipstick and want to experiment and find a shade that suits your skin tone you could try a range of colours from MUA for less money than one tube of lipstick from more expensive brands. You may also be interested to know that these come with an additional mini pot of the lipstick screwed on to the bottom, most would just think this is to identify the shade of the lipstick in the tube but it is in fact extra product! If you are a lover of luxury then I don't know how much you would enjoy these as they are not going to compete with high priced lipsticks. My final thoughts are that this is an extremely budget friendly product that wont give you the best quality but is great for trying out something new and is actually very good for the price you pay!
Lilac Belle
This is my favourite shade and it comes in the matte formula (matte shades come in white packaging) this is a more unusual shade but still very flattering and the number one shade I will be repurchasing!
Fawn Fancy
This is another matte lipstick in a really pretty neutral shade that goes on nicely and doesn't feel too dry.

Bare
This shade is a pale nude shade that feels very smooth and creamy but doesn't have the best pigmentation, this is one of the shades I prefer to pat into the lips.
Juicy
Okay so this colour is one I usually wouldn't wear it's a very peachy shade that can be built up but again looks more flattering when you work it into the lips, I actually quite like the colour and usually hate peach shades on myself.
Shade 1
This one, unfortunately, doesn't seem to have an actual name but is a very pretty vampy red with really nice pigmentation, great for getting people out their comfort zones.

Persian Rose
This is a super bright pink that again has good pigmentation and can really make a statement, if you want to try a really fun bright colour for the summer then this could be one to try.
