Today I'm reviewing the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation which I have been using for years and has become a staple in my make-up bag. I first decided to try this years ago when I first started going to college, the foundation I was using at the time (if I remember correctly it was a Max Factor one) wasn't cutting it for the early mornings and long days....I needed something longer lasting, something that wouldn't be virtually non-existent by lunchtime. After doing some research I decided that Double Wear seemed like the perfect option for my foundation needs and years later I'm still using it so I decided to share my thoughts on this little gem!
Details and Claims :
15-Hour staying power
SPF 10
Medium, buildable coverage
Semi-matte finish
Flawless all day. This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity. Won't change colour, smudge or come off on clothes. Feels lightweight and comfortable. Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day.
The foundation comes in a lovely frosted glass bottle and dark navy box that feels high quality and very befitting of the Estee Lauder brand, the only downside to the packaging is the bottle doesn't come with a pump (you can purchase a pump from MAC that fits if this is a major issue). The foundation is pigmented and covers my skin better than most other foundations I've used although to be fair I have been so stuck on this foundation there's a lot of other newer foundations on the market I would like to try. If you wear natural, light coverage foundations then this will probably feel a little heavy or cakey but for any lovers of a full face of make-up this is amazing. I have some acne/acne scars and this foundation builds really well on those areas that I need a little extra help. I also don't think I have ever used a foundation that lasts quite like the Double Wear, this will stay put and look good all day long! It does not oxidize on my skin during the day, I have noticed that overall from the day you first open it to the day you finish it the colour darkens a teeny tiny bit but nothing that will show on the skin or affect the application of your make-up. I do need to mention that it does not smell amazing but I don't even notice it anymore....it becomes familiar or nostalgic. The foundation is a natural-matte finish so maybe wouldn't be ideal for very dry skin types, I don't think the foundation feels heavy considering the coverage you get, it's also really great at not transferring or rubbing off during the day. Overall this foundation really does what it claims to do and is perfect for anyone looking for a great coverage foundation that is going to last all day!
