It's Monday.....Mondays are usually a bit rubbish so to cheer myself up I'm going to be reviewing something a little luxury. Today I'm going to be talking about the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base......the name is a bit crazy but basically it's a cream bronzer. I think most people would agree there's something a bit special about Chanel, all their products just have an elegance and true luxury feel without ever being showy or tacky. This product is a little special to me as it's the only Chanel product I own and it was given to me as a random gift one day from my fiance. So have a little read and let me know what your favourite cream bronzers are!
Claims
A cream-gel bronzer that glides on to leave a velvety finish. Skin is matt, sun-kissed and glowing.
Review
This is a cream bronzer that can be used in a number of ways, you can apply it before or after make-up, alone, all over the face or in specific areas for a more contoured look. If you wear a full coverage foundation then I would suggest using this over your make-up and if you're wearing something like a tinted moisturiser or BB cream you can use it underneath and let the tan peek through. The cream looks quite dark but blends out to a very sheer natural colour that can be built up to give you anything from a hint of sun to full tanned bronze goddess. I really love how this can be blended out as it means even us pale girls can use this without feeling too dark or orange. The formula is matte and really melts into the skin which is nice as this means you can put it anywhere on the face without worrying about looking shiny or shimmery. I prefer to use this just on the areas you would put a powder bronzer as opposed to all over the face as it gives more shape and definition. I would also recommend using this on no make-up days to give more life to the face....because nobody wants that ghosty lifeless look! Oh and can we just talk about the packaging because it's beautiful, this bronzer comes in a substantially sized tub that is made from plastic but still feels very high quality with a good weight to it. The lid is black with that beautiful gold Chanel logo stamped on top making it one of those items you want to put on display. This is an expensive item but if you have some spare cash or feel like splurging I think this is a really good product that lasts a really long time (I've only made a small dent in the product and I've had it ages). To give both sides I will say this isn't a necessity and I don't use it every day, you could just use a powder bronzer or a cheaper cream alternative.....it all depends on what you want to spend and how important that golden look is to you! I will continue to use and love this product but I'm still undecided if I'll be running out to repurchase or not!
