10 Passive Income Ideas for 2019

Today I'm going to be talking about something a little different, usually, my blog is based around beauty but recently I've become really interested in finding ways to build passive income, so today I'm going to talk about what passive income is and 10 different ideas to start earning it.
Okay, so passive income is basically a way of making money that requires little effort or maintenance after the initial set up. A passive income business can give you more financial freedom, you can even be making money while you sleep and for some, it even becomes a full-time career.

1. Digital Prints - Printables are a great passive income idea, they have a relatively low start-up cost, are easy to make and can be sold over and over again. You may think you need to be a talented artist to create beautiful art prints but you can actually buy clipart packs and fonts that you can use to make original designs to put on a print and sell to others. If you are selling these digitally then they are very low maintenance as you don't need to ship anything all you need to do is find a platform to sell on (I use Etsy) and upload your products.
I have my own Etsy shop, check it out here!

2. Planners - Planners are similar to the art printables, you don't need to create a physical product you can create a design for customers to download and print themselves or you can even create a digital planner to be used on an iPad (phone or tablet). These are a great option as they are very popular at the moment although they are slightly more difficult/time consuming to create than the art prints I just mentioned, it's a great way to expand your product range.

3. eBook  - To write your own book you don't necesarrily need to be a talented writer, although it would help, you just need some knowledge or skill to share. This is a great way to teach your customers something new and once again it's very low maintenance, once you've put it together and find a place online to sell it all you need to do is promote, promote, promote!

4. Online Course - These are extremely popular right now if you have any skill to share then this could be the option for you. There are lots of different ways to format your course, you can create slideshows, worksheets, video presentations, get creative and the options are endless. These are great if you are a blogger, social media expert or influencer especially if you already have a large social media following as people will already be wanting to know how you achieved your success and will pay good money to find out. Obviously, you don't need to have a large social media following to have success selling an online course you just need to show your customers that you have success in whatever field your course is based on to convince them to part with their cash.

5. Affiliate Marketing - This is basically a way of making money through commission, you may be given a unique code or link and asked to promote a product for someone else if people buy the product using your code or link you earn a commission. This is a good option for anyone who loves social media and doesn't want to create a product for themselves.

6. Blogging/YouTube - There's a lot of different ways to make money as a blogger/YouTuber, you can do sponsored posts, create your own products, affiliate links and ads. It can be difficult to make a lot of money blogging as there's so much competition but there's definitely space for everyone and if you work hard you can definitely make money.

7. Stock Photography - You don't need to be a professional photographer to make money taking pictures, you will need a decent camera that can take high-quality photos and a good eye. People use stock photography for all sorts of things including blogging, marketing and creating beautiful Pinterest graphics so if you can take beautiful or useful photos then you can make some money doing this as a side hustle.

8. Lightroom Presets - These are becoming so popular at the moment, there's a lot of people who really take their Instagram seriously and will pay good money to make their pictures look more beautiful and create a cohesive feed. If you use Adobe Lightroom and can create beautiful presets to take a range of different pictures to the next level then you can definitely make money, this is another great option for blogger, influencers or photographers.

9. Physical Products - If you are crafty you can create and sell your own goods on websites like Etsy but you need to be careful with this one, take into account the time it takes you to make each item, how much it costs to make each item and your shipping costs to work out if it's really worth your while. You may want to consider drop-shipping which allows you to create designs that can be printed on a range of different products, it's great because you don't need to store any inventory or worry about shipping as this will all be done for you.

10. Clipart/Fonts/Mockups - This is another option for the artistic and crafty if you have any skills in calligraphy, photography or art this could be the perfect passive income option. You will need specific software to help you create these kinds of products like Photoshop, InDesign and Procreate which will come at a cost but they are relatively low for a business startup and can be very lucrative.

There you have it a brief overview of ten passive income ideas to make money in 2019, I've only talked about each one very briefly but if you like this kind of post let me know in a comment or on my social media and I will definitely go a little more in-depth about passive income and my own personal experiences of trying to start up a side hustle.

I hope you enjoyed this post, have an amazing day!
