It's been such a long time since I've done one of these beauty empties posts so today that's exactly what I'm doing! I'm going to be talking about five beauty products that I've used up over the last few months and give you a brief review of each item, this month it's all make-up products.
First up is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid (£26.00), I've had a bit of a love-hate relationship with this foundation, I had times where I really loved how it looked and other months I didn't thank it was anything special but overall now that I've fully used the bottle I would say it's a good foundation just not exceptional. It has decent coverage and SPF15 which is great if you're going to be wearing this every day, I never noticed much flashback either which is worth noting if you take a lot of pictures. I would recommend this foundation to those who like medium-full coverage and a more matte finish if you want to read my full review click here!
Next up we have a primer (perhaps I should have written about that before the foundation to go in order of application but ohhhhh well), specifically we are going to be talking about the Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Primer in the shade Champagne. I only have a sample size of this primer as I got it in a kit but the full-size retails for roughly £20-25 which is fairly pricey. Okay so I should start by saying that I'm not a huge lover of primers in general, I find that most of them really don't do much (to hear more about those opinions click here) so if you love primers maybe you'll have a different opinion but I didn't really like this, it has glittery particles throughout which I'm not a fan of and overall I didn't think it made my skin look any smoother and my make-up didn't appear to last any longer so I wouldn't recommend this. That doesn't mean I don't like Laura Geller as a brand the Gilded Honey highlighter is beautiful, I really love it and would highly recommend that to others it's just this primer didn't really do anything for me.
Finally, I have three products from the same brand, Lash FX, they are different kinds of mascaras that I've either used up or just need to throw out because they are expired. First is the Grow Me Up Lash Serum which was probably my least favourite of the three, that doesn't mean it was bad I just didn't see a big difference in the length of my lashes when using this serum. I did think this gave a nice base before applying mascara to give some extra ooomph and I did like using this with my skincare routine to take care of my lashes as we often neglect them but if you think this will grow your lashes to new lengths and replace falsies you may be disappointed.
Next, is the Build Me Up Mascara, this is a two-step mascara that's designed to build that volume and give you options for how dramatic you want your lashes to look but I must say my favourite use for this mascara was for my bottom lashes, it may be a little over the top to have a different mascara for your top and bottom lashes but I find it really makes a difference. This mascara grabs those little lashes easily without ending up all over your face and evenly coats them, no clumpy spidery lashes! On the top lashes, it does work but I found it wasn't as dramatic as I would have liked so this would be perfect for anyone looking for a very natural look.
Finally, it's my favourite mascara of the three, the Volume Up Mascara, this I would say is a great all-rounder, it gives you nice length and volume so if you were only going to purchase one of these three Lash FX mascaras this is the one I would recommend.
