It's been a while since I've reviewed a foundation because I've been trying to use up some of the ones I already have but a few weeks back I decided I wanted a foundation that had less coverage because I've been enjoying a more natural make-up look so I picked up the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation and I'm going to be reviewing that for you today.
The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation retails for £10.99 and I have the shade Vanille Clair, from what I can see online it only comes in six shades which is pretty disappointing. This claims to give skin an added boost of radiance and an anti-fatigue effect. The packaging gives you that very 'healthy' vibe with the bright red pop of colour and pictures of fruit, it's a simple plastic bottle with a pump which makes it easy to use and travel-friendly (you get the standard 30ml of product). It's also worth noting that there is a fairly strong scent to this product, it's not unpleasant, it's slightly fruity probably to go along with the whole vibe of the foundation but if you have very sensitive skin that doesn't get on well with fragrance then this might not be a good option for you but I've not experienced any irritation or breakouts.
Okay, time for my thoughts, this foundation feels very lightweight and blends out easily on the skin, my favourite way to apply this is by using a brush to really buff the foundation into the skin to achieve a very natural glowy complexion but you can build it up to light-medium coverage. This isn't the most long-lasting foundation and I find if you build the coverage up too much you can end up looking a little cakey or oily throughout the day, personally I find it wears better when I use less product. As this has light coverage it won't cover blemishes or darkness under the eyes so you will need concealer if you have these skin concerns.
This foundation has a lovely natural finish which I really like, as I mentioned it's not the most long-lasting formula but you can get a good eight hours wear before it starts to break down. I enjoy this product for those phases when I'm all about that natural look but I wouldn't recommend this if you love full coverage, matte skin perfecting foundations. I'd say this is best for those with dry/combination skin who love fresh natural make-up and don't want to break the bank, if that's you then I would definitely recommend this. I hope you found this review helpful and if you have any questions let me know!
